BARIATRIC SURGEON THOMAS CLARK GOES OUTSIDE BOX TO DESIGN PROGRAM PROMOTING WEIGHT LOSS MANAGEMENT
(Newport News, Virginia — November 2009) What started as a “need” in the medical weight loss world has evolved into the country’s most comprehensive education program for people who wish to understand how to lose and manage their weight. Virginia bariatric surgeon Dr. Thomas Clark and his staff at the Center for Metabolic Health (CMH) have fashioned this concept to provide the most optimal weight loss programs, not only to their established weight loss patients, but to anyone who desires a “degree” in weight loss management.
Participants can earn a CMH weight loss degree and even progress to graduate modules with the innovative and reputable Weight Management University. Students are incrementally guided through the textbook and assignments to build the knowledge needed to become weight loss experts. The information is presented in a thorough, yet easy-to-understand fashion, and addresses metabolism, food, fitness, behavior, and the strategies to overcoming barriers to successful weight loss. The course curriculum incorporates individualized counseling and accountability to accommodate each individual’s specific needs. It is ideal for those who not only want to successfully lose weight, but also want to understand their particular metabolic health and what is needed in order to keep the weight off forever.
The courseware was written and is taught by Dr. Clark and his highly-skilled staff, to ensure the highest level of instruction on each subject. Dr. Clark is a board-certified physician who has dedicated his career to helping people lose weight and live their dreams through successful weight loss and healthy living. His staff consists of a nurse, certified lifestyle and weight management consultants, a registered dietician, clinical psychologist and a number of certified personal trainers dedicated to long-term success under Dr. Clark’s direction. The offerings are all exclusive to the Center for Metabolic Health.
Living outside the Newport News, Virginia, area is no deterrent to enrolling in Weight Management University. The program can be completed with on-site counseling, telephone counseling, online counseling or a combination of them all in order to accommodate anyone, anywhere with the busiest of schedules. This ultra-accessibility allows participants to follow Dr. Clark on Twitter or join Center for Metabolic Health’s online community on Facebook. The Center for Metabolic Health also has a blog detailing current happenings within the industry. After-hour appointments and private counseling sessions are also available.
The Center for Metabolic Health’s staff truly believes in the program and uses a long history of success to bolster this confidence. They work with individuals of all ages, sizes, fitness levels and varying degrees of medical problems to accomplish their goals. “Our mission is to create a community of motivated people who understand how to successfully manage their weight for life.” Dr. Clark explained.
Dr. Thomas W. Clark is a graduate of Davidson College and The Bowman Gray School of Medicine in North Carolina. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
